Woke up in the hospital Christmas Eve...

Image
Hey how's it going everyone? This week was super interesting to say the least. The office basically turned into a sick bay. We had a bunch of people sick so the whole week we were helping missionaries get to the hospital and getting all the help that they needed. So we couldn't really leave the office much to work in our area because we were with other missionaries and helping them while recouping. So we had to find a way to entertain ourselves and we learned that crutches are a lot of fun haha. There were also some construction workers fixing some stuff at the office and the chapel that's right next door. So I asked them to borrow their pressure washer and I washed the van. She's never looked so good haha. We were doing anything we could to pass the time but mainly getting everything put together for the Christmas Activities that are coming up next week. We're going to go to Ciudad del Este on Monday and have the activity on Tuesday, come home that same day and the...

Fiesta de la Navidad...

How's it going everyone? This week was really good. We had a bunch of missionaries in and out of the office. Between sick missionaries that were coming in from far away to other ones that had to stay in order to get to their hospital appointments on time. We have also been waiting for a missionary to come from the MTC but he had COVID so he couldn't come with his group. So finally 3 weeks later he got here. So we went at midnight and helped him get here safely. Which is always fun, the best part about what we do is seeing the new missionaries. Getting to know more people that are going to change the lives of people here in Paraguay.  And it also takes me back to when I was a new missionary getting here to the airport with not even the slightest idea of what these next 20 months would hold. It has been so much fun. I'm excited that I still have until February to stay and keep going.  We have progressed with some of our friends this week, we had a ward Christmas p...

21...

Hey what's up, this week was really cool and really hot. We've been heatin up down here, the closer we get to Christmas the less it feels like Christmas, with 115 degree heat and like 3000% humidity it's really interesting. But the mission is still fantastic and I love every minute of it. This week we had one of the biggest holidays here in Paraguay which would be Virgin day. Or The Virgin of Caacupe day which also happens to be my birthday. So everyone wanted to celebrate, it's definitely a special day. Thousands of people make the pilgrimage to Caacupe (a city in the middle of Paraguay). Most People go by bus but there are also a lot of people that walk. And it's actually kinda crazy because it's 115 degrees and all of the sudden some 90 year old grandpa decides to walk more than he did in the entire past year, and there were a lot of people that had heat exhaustion and heart attacks and passed away on the side of the road. So it's definitely a crazy day. ...

Normal Week...

This week was pretty normal. We didn't have any giant conferences or anything like that but we did have leadership council. Which is always a good time. We bring in all of the leaders from their zones here to Asuncion and talk about the mission and what we can do to help out the missionaries as well as work in a more efficient way. So it's always good to see some buddies that are in further away zones and spend some time with them. As well as learn from President and Hermana Faundez about how we can improve and better help the missionaries that need our help.  I also got my Christmas/Birthday package from my family (love you guys so much) and they sent me some Christmas fairy lights so you already know I had to put those in the van. So picking up a bunch of missionaries late at night with the Christmas lights turned on was a great time and definitely puts me in the Christmas mood even though it's a 100+ degrees outside.  But these week we were able to go on divi...
