Woke up in the hospital Christmas Eve...
Hey how's it going everyone? This week was super interesting to say the least.
The office basically turned into a sick bay. We had a bunch of people sick so the whole week we were helping missionaries get to the hospital and getting all the help that they needed. So we couldn't really leave the office much to work in our area because we were with other missionaries and helping them while recouping. So we had to find a way to entertain ourselves and we learned that crutches are a lot of fun haha.
There were also some construction workers fixing some stuff at the office and the chapel that's right next door. So I asked them to borrow their pressure washer and I washed the van. She's never looked so good haha. We were doing anything we could to pass the time but mainly getting everything put together for the Christmas Activities that are coming up next week. We're going to go to Ciudad del Este on Monday and have the activity on Tuesday, come home that same day and then have the other Christmas activity on Thursday for those that live close to Asuncion. Then have Leadership Council on Friday, then all the missionaries going home for this transfer leave on Monday and the new ones get in on Tuesday. So it's going to be a pretty packed week. So we're doing everything we can to get ready for that.
There was a sister in the mission who sprained her ankle super bad as well and they were also moving apartments to a nicer one. So we went to go help with the move, I forgot to take pictures but it was crazy, I have never seen a missionary apartment with so many things. They lived on the 3rd floor so we were going up and down the stairs a whole bunch, but it was super fun. I haven't helped in a move in a looooong time. Also the Paraguayan guys that have a big truck that came to help us were super funny and taught me a new word in Spanish for hoarder. They kept saying that the sisters were hoarders and that the majority of the stuff just needed to be thrown out. It was super funny. They are great guys.
Now we'll get to how I woke up in the Hospital. A couple days ago there was a missionary playing soccer and he broke his ankle while playing. So we brought him to Asuncion where the best medical care is, and helped him get hooked up with the Hospital. The Doctors said that he broke his Tibia, but the worse part is that his ankle is now sitting out of alignment and they need to put a screw in, in order to fix it. We got permission to do the surgery here in Paraguay instead of sending him back home. We went with him to the Hospital and stayed the night so that early in the Morning he could have his surgery. It was a good time actually, lots of laughs. My comp and I had to share a sofa as a bed for the night but it all turned out great.
We´re hoping that he recovers quickly because that way he won't have to go home. So keep Elder Orellana in your prayers.
Love you guys!!
Have a great Christmas!!

A little picture that scared the crap out of my mom.
How we had to sleep at the hospital. It is a hospital rule that someone has to stay with the patient all the time.
View from the apartment that we helped move.
All of the dogs lay like this down here.
We still have a bunch to do for the Christmas activities so we brought the setup to the hospital.
