Snakes, Dogs, and Red Dirt
How's it going everyone.
Day one I was warned about the snakes, these snakes are much more dangerous than the snakes you are thinking about right now. These snakes are teenage girls that give you the "look" everywhere you go. It's super funny we will be walking on the street and all of the sudden three girls will run up and talk with us as we walk for miles. It's hilarious, I love it.
A couple weird things that happened this week: a couple of drunk people interrupted our lessons which is sweet. I tried deep fried cow stomach, which honestly tasted and felt like a deep fried booger (sorry that's the only way I know how to describe it). Women breastfeed in the middle of lessons so that's something. I waited for a bus for 3.5 hours because the bus system here is wack. I ate like a pumpkin porridge thing which was pretty good.
My comp is Elder Chomorro a Paraguayo who doesn't speak much english which is crazy. I feel like I haven't been able to have a legit conversation with anyone this whole week. But that's okay I'm learning more spanish everyday.
Because I haven't been able to communicate through language I have found other forms of communication. Which I like to call universal languages, for example chess (I played my branch president who doesn't speak any english at all), also magic card trick with playing cards, or laughing. Especially laughing through all of these harder moments, I was able to communicate without actually speaking. But the most important universal language is the Spirit. It doesn't matter what language someone is speaking in if they are testifying of the truth, the spirit can be felt even if the words are not understood.
On the spiritual side of things I know the Lord works in mysterious ways. We had a meeting set up with a member and while we were on the way there they canceled on us so we just walked around and talked to people in the area. While there we ran into a man in a wheelchair who needed some help so we wheeled him home (about a mile) and then we met with his family. Come to find out he is an inactive member. His girlfriend and her 2 sisters were all very receptive of our message and even came to church with us on Sunday. If that member had not canceled on us we would have never found this family.
I love all of you

The view from our apartment.
A leak in our apartment. They told me to just leave the bowl there.
View off of our balcony.
Our kitchen cabinets. I'll have to try and fix that.
The wild dogs are insane. The packs they travel in get a little intimidating.
