Temple...

How's it going everyone?? This week went by ridiculously fast so here's some stuff that happened.

On Monday we were able to change our P-day to Monday because we had divisions with other elders on Saturday. But it was super fun we had P-day with the whole zone. We played Paddle for like 3 hours, went to eat lunch all together in a mall and then came back to the church were we played chair soccer for another 3 hours. It was sweet to be have P-day all together and hangout with a bunch of missionaries.

On Tuesday we went out and worked and found some cool people that said that they really wanted to go to church with us. So we sat down and taught some good lessons. We taught the restoration and why it's so important. I honestly really love teaching especially when the people are interested. It's a lot of fun and really rewarding and satisfying.

On Wednesday we were working and doing some stuff and then all of the sudden President showed up. So we started talking to him and helping him out with whatever he needed. Meanwhile we were planning for people to travel in a couple days for a zone conference that were going to have. But Elder Orellana, an elder who broke his ankle, was still with us. But he just received his flight plans home for Friday. President said that he would like it if Elder Orellana could go to the temple before he leaves back home for Bolivia. So he asked "Elder Schofield would you like to accompany Elder Orellana to the Temple tonight" I told him of course I would! So later that day I was able to go to the Temple which was the best thing ever. It's the first time that I've gone through the Temple in 2 years. I was only able to go once before my mission and I could go either during home MTC due to COVID restrictions that were still in place. So it was pretty amazing to be able to go again.

On Thursday we had some stuff to do in the office but really we were just getting ready for the Zone conference down in Encarnacion which is like a 6 hour drive from here. So we headed off and made our way down, a one way each way road passing semi trucks that were going way too slow. But we passed through San Ignacio on the way because the freeway goes right through it and we stopped to fill up the van and grab some ice cream. At a place where I got ice cream probably once or twice a week during the first 6 months of my mission. It was super weird and nostalgic knowing that it would be the last time I would see this place in a long time.  But we finally got to Encarnacion, slept the night at an elder's apartment and got up the next day to have zone conference.

The conferences are always great, seeing a bunch of missionaries, being able to catch up with all of them. Having time to learn even more from President and Hermana Faundez. All in all they are always a great times. After that were cleaned up everything and the plan was to leave on Saturday so we had the whole afternoon to go out and work with some elders there in Encarnacion. I was able to work with Elder Fletcher, a new missionary that got here 4 weeks ago and the dude already speaks amazing Spanish. It was super fun to go around an area that I've never worked in with a brand new elder and have great time finding and teaching people. We contacted a bunch and taught some pretty cool lessons. One of the people committed to go to church with us on Sunday and the other to read the Book of Mormon that night. He later sent us a picture of him reading. I really have come to love the simple times in the mission. Running running running to plan and organize everything with a bunch of stuff in my head, but then suddenly we are out there contacting and teaching and the simplicity of it is what I love. I love teaching the gospel to people, the joy that I get every time we get to teach a lesson or talk about the Book of Mormon is just the best.

Love you guys

On our way to Encarnacion.  We stopped in San Ignacio to get gas and ice cream.  I spent six months here at the beginning of my mission.
