Cake Wars...

Image
This week was super cool lots of stuff happening.  To start off it was the birthday of one of the elders here in the zone so we bought him a cake for p day and naturally it got smashed in his face. Then my comp and I were talking, saying that it would be funny to start a cake war. At the most random times just caking one of the other missionaries in the face during the week. It was all kind of a joke, but more on that later.  This week we found a lot of new people, we are in the process of helping them all get motivation to come to church and to want to change but with a lot of them it's been quite a ride. However we found this guy named Alfredo, Alfredo is a super interesting dude let's just say he's been down a couple tricky roads during his life getting caught up with gangs and stuff that took him to Spain, where he went down a couple more tricky roads but got back to Paraguay and then we found him. The first time we met with him in his house there was broken glass and a...

Old Times...

This week was really cool so we'll just jump right in.  First off on Tuesday I went on divisions with Elder Delgado who's a missionary from Chile serving here in the zone and he's super cool. This is only his second transfer of his mission but he's already a  super great missionary. So it was a great time going around with him for the day helping the people of Itá. It finally got somewhat cold this week so we found a lot of members that gave us cocido which is like our equivalent to hot chocolate, but it's made from Yerba and they put milk and sugar in it. All I know is it's super good and when it's cold everyone is making it.  Also, we started a new tradition as a zone, there's this song out there called bring sally up and basically it just says bring sally up and  bring sally down, so what we do is every morning we do a video call with our zone and do a 3 minute workout all together doing push-ups and whenever the song says up we go up and whenever it ...

Luz Got Baptized...

This week was super cool. A lot of miracles happened. It stated off on Tuesday when I went on divisions with an elder named Elder Montero. He's from Chile and is a semi new missionary which is always fun because they love to do the work. So we went to this neighborhood where we generally have the most success and started teaching a bunch of people there. One of these people is named Luz and she had a baptismal date for this Saturday. But earlier in the week we got a text saying that she wasn't going to get baptized because her mom doesn't think that she's ready. The weird thing is, is that she is 100% ready. She's one of the smartest people I've taught and really understands the gospel and has a super strong testimony. So we made a plan. My comp and I went in there with the goal in mind to not come out until the mom gave permission for Luz to be baptized. We weren't going to force anything because at the end of the day Luz is her kid and she has the last say...

Fell Off A Bus...

Sooooo this week was interesting to say the least. We had a bunch of cool encounters with people that we didn't know existed before. To start off we were in a lesson one day and there was a little wind like just a tiny bit but enough to make an entire tree branch fall right where I was sitting and destroyed my chair. Good thing I got out of there quick enough. But it was pretty cool how we met the people at this house. We were in another lesson and the person told us to go look for someone down said road because wayyy back when they used to talk to missionaries. So we went looking and never actually found the person but we thought that we should contact a certain house so we did and we found a house full of inactive members. Who were super cool but had no clue that the church started having meetings again after the pandemic. And then in that house the tree branch tried to kill me. After that we found out that this little girl named Luz was baptized a while ago but they never put he...
