Conferences...
This week was really cool, we had a bunch of conferences and meetings to prepare for.
On Monday it was a pretty normal day we had to go get a whole bunch of new cell phones and get them ready for the missionaries that need them. We also met with this cool family that has been coming to church off and on and they wanted to make us dinner. So we showed up and she had made pizza, we were stoked. We started chowing down to find out that she made the pizza and then layered hard boiled eggs underneath the cheese. Not complaining, I just thought it was an interesting choice haha. We had to also go pick up and install a clothes dryer and some other things for the senior couples´ apartments. And then after that we headed to the airport to get the last 2 missionaries from this group. We picked them up and brought them back to the office, it's always super cool to talk to new missionaries.
On Tuesday, we had to take the new missionaries as well as the senior couple to the hospital to get their blood drawn. Then after that we were getting everything ready for the leaders conference and picked up all the missionaries coming in from far away. It's so sweet to see all the homies after not seeing them for a long time. Also I got my paraguayan drivers license so I'm driving all around Asuncion which is so sweet. I missed driving a lot and driving in Paraguay is super fun.
On Wednesday, we had leader conference which was super cool. Definitely learned a whole bunch like always. Some of my favorite times is going to the conferences and hearing what President has to say. After that it was too late in the day to send the people that live far away back to their homes because they would get home at like 3 am so they slept the night again and then went home in the morning. So we played some basketball until late at night. I still suck at basketball but hey what´re you gonna do. Then in the morning we got up a little earlier and drove them to the bus terminal to get on home.
After that we had to get ready for the zone conference. Then help all of the people coming in for that get here on time and get ready for the conference. But the really cool thing is, is that we had this conference on Thursday and then another zone conference on Friday. And at first I was like shoot I'm gonna have to listen to the same spiel 2 times back to back. But I was wrong. President Faundez the man knows how to follow the spirit. Yes he was using the same presentation. And the messages he shared were very similar but at the same time very different. It was super cool and impressive to see the way he changed up the message based on what the missionaries needed to hear.
So after the back to back zone conferences, we got everyone going back to their area, and after installing some desks in the apartments of the senior missionaries. We had like 3 hours left on the day. So me and Elder Hall went out to work in his area. Elder Hall is another missionary here in the office but also really cool because a year ago this month I trained Elder Hall. So I was working with my own trainee which was super cool. To see the ways that he's grown and developed his spanish, and his teaching style, he's a great missionary. So we hit the grind for 3 hours finding people and teaching people. And honestly I forgot how much I love sharing the gospel, by far the best 3 hours of the week. I've been thinking about the work in the office and also getting out into the streets and I have a new goal. I'm gonna find a way to organize the work here in the office to a way that everyday we can get out there and do what's the most important, teach the restored gospel.
I love you guys
