Loyal Customer...
How's it going?? This week was pretty good, normal stuff.
It started off great, I was a little sick and I needed some medicine so we went to the pharmacy that's right below where we live and asked them for the medicine that I needed. And they told me that I could only get that with a prescription from a doctor. So I asked them if there was any other way to get it because I don't have time to go to a doctor. They said sadly no so I walked away. And started talking to my comp and as we were walking out the door, they called me back and said "oh, you're with him?" I told them yeah and they said "oh well he's a loyal customer here and because of that we'll let you take the medicine." So if you want to get prescriptions drugs in Paraguay, just be a loyal customer.
This week we also had a conference which was really cool. But before that we had a crazy day. We knew that because of the conference we were gonna lose a day basically of working in our area so we had a lot of stuff to get done. But we started working with that in mind and going about everything in a very normal way. It felt like an average day but by the end we looked back at what we did and it was honestly like we put 3 days into 1. The Lord knew that we had some goals to achieve and as we went out and did our part. He magnified what we did without us even realizing it until the end.
After that the next day we had the conference and learned a lot from President. We talked a lot about the Widow of Zarephath and it was really cool. Analyzing this story and applying it to ourselves in like 20 different ways. Super grateful for the conference it changed the way that I look at a couple of things and will change the way that I work a little.
After that we came back to our area and had a lesson with the family of a recent convert. The recent convert is named Lucas. He's 19 and his family didn't want anything to do with the church but as they watched the change in Lucas they slowly wanted to know more. And now they have come to church a couple of times and really want to learn more. So we've been visiting them quite a bit. They're reading the Book of Mormon and are super interested.
The other night we had a family home evening planned with a member and we were going to take one of our friends named Adela to the family home evening so that she could get to know them and have more friends in the church. But the member canceled on us but it's all good because the same night was a baptism for the daughter of the Branch President so we went to that instead, so that Adela could see another baptism before hers. Super great baptism but these Paraguayans know how to party. In the cultural hall was a giant bounce house and there was a bunch of cake and a bunch of kids roller skating. It was one of the most hype baptisms I've ever seen.
Then on Sunday our friend Adela got baptized so that was super sweet. She's ready to receive the gospel and when she heard it she accepted it and was ready for baptism. Also we had a family of 4 come with us to church and they said that they really liked it so hopefully they can keep going on this path and soon enough get baptized as well.
Another great week
