Getting Called Out...

This week was a solid one. We had transfers and I'm with Elder Elggren an elder who was also in my MTC district. Super cool. It's pretty sweet to see the progress we have made since the MTC, we've come a looooong way haha. 

But we started off this week with Elder Dutson saying goodbye to some friends here. It was a good time but saying bye is always tough, good thing I'm staying here for a little bit longer. After that we got hooked up with Elggren and hit the ground running. Finding a bunch of people and doing our best to find the ones that want to progress towards baptism. 

I have no idea why but we are in the middle of winter down here and it's super hot like in the 90s so I'm pumped for summer to come haha. But it's good when it's hot like this more people are out and about so it gives us more opportunity to talk to more people. We talked to a lot of people this week and heard a lot of excuses. This one dude after we asked him if we could come back another day said "well ya see I don't stay at my house often and I have a gate and 3 dogs sooo" we had no idea what a gate and 3 dogs had to do with anything but because of that we couldn't go back. We also found this crazy lady who's from a radio church as we were sitting down organizing some things she came up to us and gave us a pamphlet for her church. We accepted and began talking to her. Or better said began listening to her because she didn't let us talk. At the end of her spiel we asked if we could give her a pamphlet in return and she looked at us and yelled "DON'T NEGOTIATE MY SPIRITUALITY" one my favorite contacts of the week. 

Sunday was also crazy, there's like some beef going on between 2 of the young women in the branch and one of their moms had to give a talk on Sunday. And during her talk she was basically just calling out this other girl over the pulpit. The other girl got up and left the sacrament meeting and like half the branch went with her. It was crazy. I was stressed that our friends that we had at church that day were gonna think that our church is crazy. But while talking to them afterwards they said they loved the church and they feel great while inside, they didn't even notice the crazy lady calling out the young woman. God works miracles. 

On Sunday we also went out to work and this 18 year old named Elias went with us as well as his sister and her friend (a recent convert) and we were contacting and teaching with these guys for like 4 hours it was super fun and they loved it. They said they really want to go out teaching and contacting with us again, so what more could you ask for.

What’s up!! This week was amazing, we were able to get some real work done. We had a couple of lessons where we could bring some members along. We found some other inactive members who we are helping come back to church and along with that baptize their kids. I’m super thankful for the members here in the ward, they are awesome and always able to help us when we need it.     One day we met a lady and invited her to church, but she told us she didn't want to go because she didn’t have any friends in the church. So we told her that before Sunday came we would stop by her house with a member so that she could get to know her and then have a friend in church. And we knew just the lady to call … Rosa. How's it going everyone?? This week went by ridiculously fast so here's some stuff that happened. On Monday we were able to change our P-day to Monday because we had divisions with other elders on Saturday. But it was super fun we had P-day with the whole zone. We played Paddle for like 3 hours, went to eat lunch all together in a mall and then came back to the church were we played chair soccer for another 3 hours. It was sweet to be have P-day all together and hangout with a bunch of missionaries.  On Tuesday we went out and worked and found some cool people that said that they really wanted to go to church with us. So we sat down and taught some good lessons. We taught the restoration and why it's so important. I honestly really love teaching especially when the people are interested. Snakes, Dogs, and Red Dirt

How's it going everyone. Day one I was warned about the snakes, these snakes are much more dangerous than the snakes you are thinking about right now. These snakes are teenage girls that give you the "look" everywhere you go. It's super funny we will be walking on the street and all of the sudden three girls will run up and talk with us as we walk for miles. It's hilarious, I love it.  A couple weird things that happened this week: a couple of drunk people interrupted our lessons which is sweet. I tried deep fried cow stomach, which honestly tasted and felt like a deep fried booger (sorry that's the only way I know how to describe it). Women breastfeed in the middle of lessons so that's something. I waited for a bus for 3.5 hours because the bus system here is wack. I ate like a pumpkin porridge thing which was pretty good.
