Tendons and Hooves...

This week has been great we did a lot of cool things and a lot of our friends are progressing really quickly.

To start out the week we had to go get our toes looked at, my comp had an ingrown toe that some lady took out and he had to go back for pt.2 and while we were there I asked her to look at my toe because it was kinda discolored on the toe nail. Turns out I got something going there but this lady hooked me up free of charge. The funny thing is, is where this place is at. The outside looks like any normal clothing store but you walk in and they're selling clothes as well as cutting people's hair like a salon and as well using a Dremel to take out whatever was in my toe. So I had this lady manhandling my foot while people were walking around buying clothes or getting their haircut. But to be honest this lady does good work and now my toe is all good to go.

After that we had divisiones this week and I went with Elder Vazquez one of my old comps so that was super cool. We had a great time teaching a bunch of people and laughing too much. We started talking to this lady and she had a really nice looking front yard and this shelf thing with a bunch of plants on it. So I said "wow you're front yard is super nice and I've always wanted one of those little Cactus that you have, I think I might buy one soon" and she turns around goes and grabs one of the little pots with a Cactus in it and gives it to me, I told her that she didn't need to do that and she goes "well you wanted one so what're gonna do" so now I have a little Cactus and to be honest I'm not complaining.

We also had some super good food this week, Back to back soups. One day we had cow tendon soup and the next day cow hoof soup. The people that gave us the tendon soup were all over it just slurping down the gelatinous stuff. They kept saying "this isn't fatty don't be scared of it its just gelatinous". And then to make it better they said that as we eat these tendons it will make our own tendons stronger. We laughed and got through it. The next day we had hoof soup and we asked the lady "so is this good for our feet?" And she goes, "absolutely and it's really great for you guys because you walk a lot" so don't worry guys my Tendons and hooves have never felt stronger. We asked the lady if we ate cow eyeball soup, would our eyes get stronger.  She said "no way, that's gross. But fish eye soup would really help." haha

The Elder that was here before me had left some box cookie mix and one day we really wanted cookies, but we don't have an oven. So we made the cookie mix and started trying it out. We tried frying pan style, we tried microwave style, we tried panini press style. And to be honest the microwave one worked the best the other ones not so much. But either way they were all good because a cookie is a cookie.

Last week a 9 year old kid named Dereck came to church with his grandma who is not baptized so we decided to pass by their house and see what's going on and how we can help. We passed by and the grandma was there as well as Dereck and also Dereck's mom who is a member just super inactive. She kinda walked passed us and we invited her to share with us. She was like "uhhh I guess so" so we taught the restoration and shared a video about the first vision. The spirit was so strong it was incredible, the mom was crying and she realized that she has been missing out on going to church. We continued sharing and Dereck said that he wanted to get baptized which made his mom cry even more because she wants to help her kid. Yesterday they all came to church the 3 of them and the smile on the mom's face said it all. It was honestly one of the more spiritual moments on my mission and just goes to show the truth of what we're doing out here.

We also had 2 more friends in church yesterday named Liz and Osmar who are a young couple looking at getting married who are progressing like crazy. I've never seen 2 people understand more and really want to have answers so bad that they study and study and study. They've been reading the Book of Mormon and the Bible like crazy and always have a bunch of questions for us when we go to their house. It's one of the highlights of the week to pass by their house. But we were super happy because they came as well as our friend Lucas who is going to get baptized this Saturday.

We had another lady come named Nilsa who is also going to get baptized on Saturday, she's just a super nice older lady who loves the gospel and knows it's true. So she's going to get baptized as well. It was a great week, we had a good amount of people come to church with us and we're so grateful for all the Lord is doing for us in our area.

I love you guys, hope you look out for your tendons and hooves.

This is the switch that controls the hot water element in our shower.  Started on fire, so we had to replace it. Don't worry we turned the breaker off before we changed it out.
