I Hate Soccer....

How's it going everyone this week was really sweet.

Just to start off, I don't really hate soccer, but this week we found a bunch of new people who all wanted to go to church but couldn't because they all had soccer games on Sunday. So none of them could come. One of these people we found is named Tiago. He's a 9 year old kid but one of the coolest. His older sister is already a member so we went to teach Tiago and when we showed up he already had the chairs set up for us and was sitting there reading his Book of Mormón. Which is insane because nobody actually reads the Book of Mormón no matter how many times we invite them haha. But this kid is a goat. He already loves the Book of Mormón and when I asked him what he likes to do he said, play soccer and follow God. So we invited him to church on Sunday and he said that he couldn't go because he has to play soccer. We asked if he would rather go to church or play and he said church but that his mom won't let him go. So we asked if we could talk to the mom. So she came out and we started talking with her and for whatever reason she was dead set on him playing soccer, she knew that the church is important and everything but she didn't care at all.... so we're gonna go back and see if we can get Tiago to church.

This week was full of finding new people, we found a bunch of people and had really high hopes that a lot of them were going to come to church. Well nobody showed up. Kinda a bummer but it's all good because these random people showed up who we didn't know so we talked to them. An inactive member wanted to come back to church again (win #1) and also she brought 2 friends with her (win #2). So we got their names and numbers and got to know them and told them that we would stop by later that day. Little did we know they live superrr far away but honestly it didn't matter we were ready to walk forever in order to find them. So after lunch and
after a massive rain storm we hopped on a bus and then walked super far as well but we got to their house. And as we were sharing with them the lady said "I just really love this church and want to be a member". So you can imagine how happy we were. The only issue is that she needs to get married first but that's OK because so does 90% of Paraguay.

Also this week we had a mission wide conference in Asunción. So we bussed our way up there with the whole zone which was super fun. We had like a 3 hour conference and lunch and then came home. Super cool though because we got to see a whole bunch of people and other missionaries that I haven't seen in a long time. So it was super fun hanging out with people and catching up.

Also, last Monday was Valentine's Day so as a zone we did like a secret Santa but secret valentine. We picked names out of a hat and got them a funny gift. There is an hermana in my zone from Uraguay who pulled my name. She's kinda quieter but when she does talk she's super funny. So when I opened my gift there was a pair of neon pink socks but more importantly a framed picture of me from like 10 years ago. Where I was dressed up for Halloween and somehow found this picture and the  printed it out and framed it. Honestly never been more shocked in my life to open a present but it was hilarious. A couple days later we had district council with them so I had to show up in my new pink socks. Which was funny because everyone was commenting on them. Most people were roasting me but it was too funny to care.

Also this week we got a call from my homie Elder Hoover who was teaching this person but she lives in our area and she has come to church twice and has had all of the lessons and everything. We just have the opportunity to baptize her, straight up one of the coolest things yet. 100% miracle. We were trying to have a baptism this month but it looked like we weren't gonna have one and then this happened.

Definitely had a great week. Loving it here in Itá super cool place no doubt. I hope you all have a great week.

Love you all

Check out the comment from our Facebook video.  I get told this all the time.

After coming back from the conference, all of the elders(8) stayed at our apartment because of the busing situation so late at night.  The sisters combined apartments so we took their mattresses for the night.
