Common Sense Isn't That Common...
This week was insane. So much stuff went down.
First we had an emergency transfer in the zone while Elder Coumans was up in Asunción. So I went into an unplanned trío for a couple days which was kinda sweet because the Elders I was with were super cool. One of the coolest parts is that I got to go have a lesson with this girl named Noelia who lives outside of my area. But I found her on Facebook and sent her to the Elders over in the area where she lives. But because I was in a trío with one of the elders from that area we headed over there and had a lesson with her. And it was such a sweet lesson. Because she goes, " I have a question but I don't think you're going to be able to answer it" and I was like, ask away. She asked "why did God create us and why are we here?" And I was like "well actually we do have the answer to this". It was the coolest thing we taught a lesson straight off of her questions and it was legit just the whole plan of salvation which was so cool. Then she said she was going to read the book of Mormon.
After that I went on divisions out in this place called Campo 9. Which is like an hour bus ride away but it's also really weird because it's 1 of 2 places in our whole mission where you can buy American soda like dr pepper, mtn dew, and root beer. When my zone heard I was going out there they all gave me a bunch of money to buy soda. So I was walking around on the streets with a couple 12 packs on my shoulders. It was awesome.
But also I might have set up the coolest service project with the group leader of campo 9. Him and his wife are a young married couple and are pregnant. They are also trying to build a house, but he has like no time because he's working like a dog just to pay for living expenses. So I was like hey call us when you need help. And I was like wait... call us and I'll bring like 12 misioneros and we'll put up this house. And his eye's straight lit up with happiness, and it was sweet so hopefully here soon were legit gonna build a house for this guy.
This week I also went out to Asunción for a leadership conference. Which was actually super cool the bus rides are always super fun because we're homies with the other missionaries that are riding it. But we get there and then we played some ultimate football which was sweet. Playing with everyone is a blast. After that we went to this conference.
During the conference, it was kinda about some rules that needed clarification and all President Faundez kept saying was "common sense is not that common". He legit said it like 100 times which was hilarious. I was loosing my mind laughing about it. But it was a super cool conference definitely learned a bunch. And most of it was just President saying, stop being dumb and use your brain.
After that we had some lunch with all the zone leaders and sister training leaders. We ate some mad lasagna and it was so good. It was a nice change up from the normal food. Then we got on the bus again and headed back home.
After that we had some cool lessons with people in our area. Kinda cool that we found a bunch of people on Facebook and met with them and there are a couple that are actually really interested so I'm super excited about that.
Today is transfers, and my comp is ending his mission. So my new comp is going to be Elder Yañez, who is from Chile so that'll be super cool I'm stoked about that. He's coming from the office and is stoked to get out of there so he's gonna come in here and we're gonna work like animals. It's gonna be sweet.
I also went on Divisions with my homie Elder Hoover, from Idaho falls, super cool dude that went to the Airforce academy before his mission. We had some awesome lessons. One of the coolest lessons of my mission. We were teaching this lady and she was low key bashing super hard. And usually when people bash the spirit leaves. But with this lady it was different, she was bashing for sure but the spirit was still there. And she ended up asking me where there is any evidence that proves that the spirit world exists. So we read with her in the Bible this verse that explains it. And when we read this her entire countenance changed immediately, and it was the coolest thing ever. You could literally see the spirit touch her heart. And then she was super receptive to what we were saying after that.
It was such a good week, I love you all have a great week.
