Fastest Week Ever...
This week was absolutely insane. Most people would say that it passed in the blink of an eye but it was more like half of a blink. This week Elder Costa from the Presidency of the area came to the mission. So we had some mission wide conferences.
It all started on Wednesday when we drove out to Ciudad del Este and on the way stopped at the majority of the missionary's apartments. Helping them have all the materials that they need like Books of Mormon, stoves to cook, etc. After doing that we made it to Ciudad del Este and made sure that all of the apartments were ready because we were bringing 2 other zones to Ciudad del Este to sleep the night and then wake up for the conference the next day. So we were hauling mattresses around getting ready for everything. Then the bus that we rented got here and we put up everyone that we could in the apartments and those that we couldn't. We had a hotel as well. After a late night I got up super early and headed to the chapel to get everything ready because Elder Costa not only wanted to talk to those there in person but at the same time with the whole mission. So we had to get everything in order so that the mission could be part of the zoom and not only see but hear what Elder Costa was saying.
I ran into a police roadblock on the way down to Ciudad del Este. I was driving the van full of supplies. The officer asked me where I was from. I told him "Asuncion" he didn't believe me. I then said, "the States, but I live in Asuncion." He asked why I was traveling to this other city. I told him I had a conference. He asked what kind of conference. The way I responded made him realize that it was a church thing. He told me that because I was a brother in Christ, I was free to go.
Then we had some super cool conferences and ate a good lunch, had one more meeting after lunch and then ran back to Asuncion because at 8 that same night a bunch of missionaries were arriving in the office to spend the night. So we ran home. It's like a 6 hour drive and got everyone dinner and got them to bed. We organized the chapel and then went to bed. And in the morning it was the same layout just here in Asuncion. So after lunch we had one more meeting and then Elder Costa left and we cleaned everything up.
So most of my week consisted of organizing that. Renting the bus, the hotel, figuring out where everyone was going to spend the night, how we were going to broadcast everything to the mission. And making sure that it all happened without any hiccups. It all went really well and we could enjoy some good instruction from Elder Costa and his wife. In my opinion his wife gave some of the most powerful talks, I definitely enjoyed listening to her.
But most importantly this week we were able to put two of our friends on date for baptism. They came to church and loved it and want to keep coming because in their own words "we need Jesus" and yes they do. But they are super cool and it's always a great time talking and sharing with them.
I love all of you guys

Food court in Ciudad del Este
Where I buy tickets for the busses for al of the missionaries. Something went wrong with their system and because they love me as a customer they let me chill in the booth with them while they figured it out. It was super funny.
