Assistant to the Regional Manager...
Well I got my transfers and I'm in the office learning how to be the new secretary. Which is honestly pretty cool.
So I came up to the office on Monday in order to help out with transfers. So Monday night we helped a lot of the people that live in the further away areas come to the office in order to go to their new areas on Tuesday. That night we also had to go pick up the 17 new missionaries from the states. So they landed at like midnight but after paying for their visa and everything we got back to the office at 2 am. But also one of the missionaries missed his flight, so he got on the next one that landed at 4 am. So we slept for a little while but then went back to the airport at 4 am to pick up the other elder and we bought him some traditional paraguayan food that some dude was selling outside of the airport. Which was always good, some solid oil filled Paraguayan food at 4 am hits different.
On Tuesday we got up and had transfers which basically consists of helping everyone get on the right bus, and having all of the bus tickets bought beforehand. And organizing all of the travels of every missionary that has transfers. And then taking all of the missionaries to the bus terminal, loading up all of their suitcases in the van and basically just chauffeuring them around. After all of the missionaries left the new missionaries were waking up because they were super tired from all their travels. But we took them to get their blood taken out at the hospital as part of getting their visa. Then we took them to the Temple. After a year and half of not seeing the temple and then being on the grounds, it was a super cool experience, definitely a highlight of the week. Then we had to go pick up all of the new trainers for these new missionaries from the bus terminal and get them all dinner and stuff.
On Wednesday we got up, played some basketball and then set up for the training conference of all the new missionaries and their trainers. Which was super cool. I had to translate for the only latina out of the 17 missionaries that came. They did the training in English just so that we don't have to say everything two times. But this hermana from Argentina doesn't know any English so I was translating for her, which was honestly super cool. Then we had a massive hamburger lunch at the mission home with everyone to welcome them to the mission, so we were cheffing up and hanging out with all of the homies. After that we sent everyone off to their new areas at least those who were close to their areas. Those who had to travel farther stayed in the office with us and then Thursday morning went to their areas.
Thursday we had to go back to the airport in order to get a permission slip that allows us to get past security and help the new missionaries that are coming in. Because they don't speak Spanish. So we got to the airport and we walked to the very back like through all the behind the scenes stuff and talked to the head of the airport security and signed a paper for us so that on monday when the last two elders get here we can help them get past security and pay for their visas without any problems.
We also have been teaching some pretty cool people, we have a friend that is going to get baptized this week on friday which will be super cool. I'm super excited for that. The members here are super cool and help us a lot with all of the people that we are teaching which is super cool because with their help a lot of our buddies are gonna get baptized.
On Saturday or today we got up and went back to the airport in order to pick up a senior couple named the Rogers. After we picked them up we took them back to their apartment and then went to play paddle with President and then we went to one of the fanciest malls in Paraguay to eat some good lunch.
This new assignment is super different but its a good time, and more importantly we still have time to get out there and preach the gospel. Also my p-day will be on Saturday now while I am in the office.
I love you guys
Easton
