Weird Week...

Happy 4th of July. Because it's the 4th we decided to celebrate American style, so we're going to get together as a Zone and have an eating competition. We found a place that sells empanadas for super cheep and we bought around 300 empanadas. We're gonna go to a park and see who can eat the most. Meanwhile playing football and frisbee. It was the most American thing we could think of and I'm super excited.

This week few by just like the last one but it was slightly more interesting haha.

It started off on Tuesday I went down to another city to do divisions with an Elder named Elder Vorwaller super cool dude from Tooele. We taught some super cool people one of which is a lady that got baptized about a year ago by one of my old companions who now wants her daughter to get baptized. It's pretty amazing to see how the gospel changes the lives of the people it touches and the impact that this change has on the family as well. That night we had to go to a baptismal interview in another area so we did that. And then ate some tacos with the Elders there. It's the first time I've eaten Mexican tacos in over a year and I forgot how good they really are.

After that Elder Dutson and I got back to grinding in our own area. We had a day so jammed packed with scheduled visits (normally there is like 2 things actually scheduled for the day.) But we had a lot of things scheduled in about the same time period. So we called some members asked them if they could come to the lesson with us and we kinda just introduced the members to our friend gave them a chapter to read in the Book of Mormon together and then we left leaving them alone. Thanks to these members we could get to our other lesson on time and everything worked out just peachy.

The next day we had district council and it was really cool. Always a good time to get together and see the other missionaries. We went and met with our friend Moisés who is an absolute beast. He walks to church all by himself (kinda far) but absolutely loves it. We met him about 2 weeks ago but he's already got a baptismal date for the 16th. We had a family home evening with some really cool members and invited him to go as well. He loved it and now has some really good friends that he knows who will be in the church with him.

On Friday I woke up not feeling to good but we had some really important stuff to do so it didn't really matter how I felt we had to get out and teach some people. We walked pretty far this day and my body was exhausted super achy and I was feeling like garbage. But we got to all the people we needed to and came home at 9:30. I took my temp and had a fever of 101. But it was all worth it because we taught  5 people that are on baptismal date, got one of those 5 ready for his baptism that we had on Sunday and found some people that a couple of members referred to us. So it was a super productive day but by the end I was wrecked. I asked my comp for a blessing went to sleep praying that I would feel better in the morning because again we had some important things to do.

I woke up and my fever had broke my body was no longer achy I didn't even wake up in the middle of the night. The Lord really does answer prayers!!

Saturday was normal good day, we cleaning the font for the baptism of Dereck and got that all ready. Sunday I woke up with my left ear ready to explode. I woke up a bunch of times during the night because of the pain and also my eye had something weird going on. Needless to say I felt like a wreck but we had to get to the church early to fill the font the rest of the way with hot water. So we went and had a great baptism Dereck is awesome, his whole family came which was super cool, couldn't be more proud of him.

Meanwhile all of the members at church could tell I was sick and were all offering me different remedies and stuff to make me feel better including making a tea out of some herbs and then pouring that in my eye. I stuck to the basics though and got some eyedrops and I'm on the mend now.

This week was filled with a lot of stuff to do and a lot of amazing people that we met. It really makes me notice that what we're doing out here is the Lord's work and nobody else's. If it weren't for Him there's no way we would have been able to achieve what we did this week.

I love you all
