Drunk Member??

This week was one of my favorites so far.

It started off with divisions. Elder Vazquez went to a city called Carapeguá and Elder Cantero who is serving there, came up here to Itá. We grinded trying to find people and it worked out. We found a couple new people to teach who have potential!! Plus the divisions ended with going to the laguna and finding some crocodiles and eating some good pizza, can't complain.

After that, Vazquez came back and we went to this neighborhood where we generally have more success. While eating lunch with a member she started telling us a story about this other member who often walks around super drunk or sometimes on drugs around the neighborhood. I don't know if it's actually true or just a rumor, but either way I don't really care because this guy that allegedly walks around super drunk, has been the most clutch member I've met. He's kinda super weird but because of him we have 5 people on date for baptism, so there is no complaining at all. He is the member most active in helping us find and teach people.

After that the day that really marked this week was Saturday. We had another open house for the church but this time in a city called Yaguarón. And we had 2 baptisms in the zone this same day in the morning. So on Friday we went down to do the baptismal interview with one of the coolest 15 yr olds I've ever met. Then we slept in the elders apartment there and got up in the morning to make sure everything was good for the baptism. It was planned to start at 9 am and the other baptism in Paraguarí was planned for the same time. At like 8:59 we get a call from the hermanas serving in Paraguarí saying that littleraly no one from their branch has showed up and the dude that was supposed to baptize the guy bailed. And that they needed our help to baptise their friend Juan. So we ran and found some baptismal clothes for us and ran to find a bus. Hopped on a bus and the dude was going soooo slow but we finally got to the city and ran like 8 blocks as fast as we could got to the church and had a baptism. This guy Juan is a super cool dude and I'm really grateful to be a part of his baptism.

After that we all got on a bus back to Yaguarón for the open house in the church. Which was also super cool. There was a bunch of people coming and the Young Women came in clutch. There's this 17 yr old girl that invited 3 of her friends to come and check out the church. Which is super cool because I definitely would not have done the same thing when I was 17. My comp and I we dressed In our baptismal clothes and we taught everyone that came in about baptism and what it means. We invited everyone we could to be baptized even if it was the first time these people have heard about baptism we invited them and it was super cool, a lot of people said yes now the missionaries there just need to pass by their houses and help them out. It was a complete success and we had a great time spending the day with super cool members and all of our zone.

Also today is transfers. Sadly Elder Vazquez is leaving, I'll be staying here and my new comp is named Elder Pearce also a cool guy that I know. We aren't getting our new comps until Wednesday because there are protests over the gas prices and the roads to Asuncion are blocked or moving really slowly.

I'm loving the work and loving the area, never been happier.

Love you guys
