I Got Peed On...
What's good everyone? This week was a solid one so here we go.
At the start of the week we had transfers. So I took the red eye from that little city Paso Yobai back to CaaguazĂș. And by red eye I would love to say it was a plane, but no. It was just a really really crappy bus haha. But we got back all safe and sound and started helping the Elders that were leaving. For transfers, we have one area that is closing and then 2 more missionaries leaving the zone so we're only receiving 2 new guys. We still have the Bro Zone because we are the only zone in the whole mission with only Elders and no Sisters. Also just something I forgot last week I ate some horse meet at a members house. It wasn't that bad. Turns out beef is really expensive right now but horse is always economical.
This week we were just doing our thing and then one day we were at the church in order to do something and there was so an activity for the little kids there. And as we were leaving this little girl named Melanie ran up to me and told me that in 2 days is her baptism and that she wanted me to baptize her. So I told her that I would without a doubt and we started prepping for a baptism. Cleaning the font, making the program, asking people to give talks and bring food (it's not a baptism here in Paraguay without a bunch of food).
And then on Saturday we had the baptism. Honestly the best thing ever. This little girl, Melanie, is probably the smartest little girl I've ever met in my life and it's hilarious because she completely acts like an adult, she talks like an adult, tells people what to do like an adult. And she understands everything, we went to her house a day before just to talk about baptism and she was telling us stuff that there is no way that an 8 yr old girl should've known. All of which she knew. Needless to say she's kinda the coolest little kid ever.
Also this week we had one area close down here in Caaguazu. There used to be 10 missionaries here but now only 8. So this means that there is an entire apartment full of furniture and stuff that we have to close down. So we went and started organizing everything, there were bed frames, mattresses, shelves, dressers, night stands, tables, chairs all of the above haha. And the best thing about this whole thing is that nobody in CaaguazĂș that we know has a truck. So we called out homie Wilfrido. He's our favorite taxi driver and asked him to help us out. He also has a small pickup truck that he uses for a taxi. After halling everything down to the street we made 3 different trips to other apartments within CaaguazĂș to distribute all of the stuff. And we're actually almost done there's just a little bit more that needs to be moved. It was pretty fun though and homie Wilfrido definitely came in clutch so I am grateful for him.
Also, Marvel movies are not just a big thing in the States. Paraguay also goes crazy for Marvel. So I guess Spiderman came out on like a Wednesday and we went to our homie Ivan's house on Thursday. He proceeded to tell us exactly what happened in this Spiderman movie scene for scene and honestly it sounded pretty sweet. But to make it better, he pulled out his phone and showed us a bunch of different scenes that he recorded when he was at the movie theater. So I may not have seen Spiderman but I saw Spiderman haha.
This week our branch also had a Christmas party. It was supposed to start at 7:00. That day we were eating lunch with a member family and they were telling us that basically all of the other families bailed on them and they were now in charge of basically all of the food. So naturally we jumped up and started helping them make some different foods. We made fruit salad and rice salad. The fruit salad is just a whole bunch of cut up fruit then filled with pineapple soda and then add a whole bunch of sugar. Apparently it's pretty healthy according to paraguayans haha. Also another thing to keep in mind is everything to a Paraguayan is a salad as long as it's cold. So a whole bunch of rice with cut up fresh bell peppers and carrots smothered in mayo also counts as a salad. And apparently is super healthy as well. "According to a paraguayan" it doesn't matter that we just dumped 5 pounds of mayo on it haha. I love it though. The fruit salad is actually so dang good.
But later that night we showed up for the party we showed up at 6:30 in order to help with any last minute things and we were the first people there. Other people showed up quite a bit later and we set up tables and chairs. The party didn't start until 9 even though. It was supposed to start at 7. So kind of a bummer we had to leave before it could start because we had to be home at this time. But I heard that the fruit salad was super good so I got a shout out from that haha.
Also our good friend Mica is on date to be baptized the 9th of January and we are super excited for her. It's gonna be a great time no doubt. She's super cool and definitely ready to be baptized but she's traveling for the holiday and will get back in early January.
We also went to a members house this week and they live on like a small farm and they have two goats. One of their goats was pregnant with 2 baby goats. One of them was born normally but the other one was stuck. So one day were just walking around and this car honks at us. We look over and it's our homies from the farm. And they offer to drive us to wherever we needed to go. We accepted and got in the car. We look behind us and there the goat just chillin in the trunk it was awesome. It had to go to the vet.
But a couple days later we went back to their house and they had this baby goat so I was feeding it some milk it was just chillin on my lap. It was awesome. But all of the sudden I felt something unusually warm on my lap. And home boy baby goat decided he wanted to pee and that my lap was the best place to go.
It was a great week, I love you all and all your emails.
