No Church In The Wild..

This week was awesome. My favorite parts about being a zone leader is being able to go on divisions with a bunch of missionaries. And this week we did it 3 times.

First I went out with Elder Midget who is part of my district. A super cool guy from Utah. He went to basic training and after the mission is going into the army. We had a blast in his area teaching some really cool people. One of the families we taught is named the family Torres. They are a super cool family who are pretty well off for Paraguayan standards. When we went we taught 3 kids a 19 year old, 18 year old, and 10 year old. They wanted us to teach them a little bit of English so we did. They brought out this massive white board in order that we could use it teach English. After that we taught them about the Gospel of Jesus Christ and what steps we have to take in order to arrive in heaven. It was awesome too. I was able to use the whiteboard to draw it all out as well. These kids are super cool, and later on I learned that they now have a date to be baptized in November.

Being in the area of Elder Midget was awesome because it's way more country than my current area. And low key I felt like I was back in San Ignacio for a while. I love working out in the country. I love it but it's also tricky because there are a lot of people who we invite to go to church but don't because it's too far away. Or at least that's what they say. (Here's where the title reference comes in)

After that I had the opportunity to go on divisions with Elder Cox. I love this guy, he's the biggest country boy you've ever met from Rigby Idaho. For fun he goes snow mobiling and off roading and listens to country music. Basically we became instant friends and I'm sad I didn't know the guy before the mission.

His area is also super country at least compared to my current area. And lemme tell ya we had some interesting encounters. We were teaching this lesson and it was going really well. Then all a sudden this naked 7 year old kid just starts running around, tries to play with us, is going crazy (like most paraguayan children do). It became so weird because I'm accustomed to like babies running around naked like that happens everywhere but this 7 year old kid is not young, goes and sits in the dirt and continues to play in the dirt. This lady then starts to bash with us over certain things and it went from such a great lesson to not in such a quick amount of time haha. But it was definitely an interesting one.

After that we had this activity at their chapel and we played some volleyball and taught some people how to play American football. It was a super cool event and we had some people that aren't members come and really enjoyed it so I call that a win.

After that the APs came into our zone and we had divisions with them. They do divisions with all of the zone leaders once a transfer so it was sweet to do it. One of the assistants Elder Farmer stayed with us and the other Elder Acosta went with another companionship in our zone.  Which was super cool. Elder Farmer is a good buddy so it's always a blast to see him and hangout and work with him. We had a really cool day with him and especially one super cool lesson. With our friend Angie, who came to church last Sunday.

She had a whole bunch of questions and the coolest part was that all the stuff we used to answer her questions was literally stuff that we had just learned in our personal study the days prior. It just proved to me to that God is guiding everything not just the lessons but also our studies, constantly preparing us in order to help people better understand.

Angie came to church again this week which was awesome. Elder Coumans and I both were asked to give talks this week in church. I talked about the love of Christ and all the things he did for us. And how instead of just saying that we love people, actually showing that we do. Because our actions will always be louder than words.

We also did some cool service this week, we varnished some ladies house. Which is wild because all of the houses here are made of brick and concrete so the fact that this lady actually had wood was mind blowing. But she did on the inside of her house. She had some wood slatted walls that needed to be varnished because the last time that was done was probably forever ago. So our whole district showed up and went to town moving out furniture, cleaning the walls and then varnishing them. It was super fun and this lady was super happy about it so I couldn't ask for more.

It was a great week no doubt, I love you all and wish you the best.

I got my shoes back after being re-soled.  The guy put on a sole that was too small, and now they don't fit that well.
